Soft Jam

So I want to get a set of bongos or a conga drum for when my buddies play acoustic guitar so i can jam with them. I'm also pretty pressed for money, any solutions?

My band has been trying to do this for a while as well. Basically, we made a mini microphone and put it into a practice drum pad and set the sensitivity really low. This is hooked up to a computer that has a program running that triggers the bass drop (808) when you hit the pad. You run this direct, through the PA, do not run this through it’s own amp, it wont have the same effect. We’re still working out the kinks in ours. It’s pretty jank but it works.

What is ultimately easier is to play to a clicktrack live in stead.

I’m not positive what are best to record with, but Zildjian A customs are the most highly regarded.
